Massage on the body, especially shoulders, feet and scalp, improves blood and oxygen circulation, improves your mood, promotes better sleep, makes you relaxed, alleviates pain and swelling, and makes your body feel great. There is the general full body type of massage for general relaxation — Shiatsu in Japan. The deep tissue massage uses slightly more pressure that the general full body massage. This is specially used to help relieve pain as a result of chronic muscle pain, tight muscle, injury, soreness, or imbalance. The hot stone massage is ideal to release muscle pain and tension. The added heat from the stone relieves more muscle, hence added advantage. Looking for optimal relaxation and boost in the natural energy level without full body touch or laying down? Then it’s the reflexology or chair massage.

The reflexology massage process uses either gentle or firm pressure on specific pressure joints like the ears, hands and feet. A massage in a chair concentrates on the ears, shoulders and back. Aromatherapy massage involves the use of essential oils, either rubbed on the skin or inhaled, offering great emotional healing as well as body relaxation. Frequent and repetitive use of muscle sometimes result in injury, especially in sports; hence the sports massage to the rescue. Let’s massage the scalp. For optimum benefit of the massage, wash your hair. We hope you have a blow dryer with low heat setting. Excessive heat is bad for hair and threats healthy hair. Otherwise, a good absorbent cotton t-shirt is just fine to dry the hair. Towels are harsh for the hair and easily rip up the hair. Oils like lavender, jojoba, coconut, tea tree, peppermint, olive are great to lubricate your scalp for easy massage. These oils, as well promote hair growth, reduce itchiness, strengthen, and thicken hair. In their absence, your regular hair food or cream or moisturizer can be used. Hit the shower, thoroughly wash your hair and scalp.

Why not wash your whole body since you are already in the shower? Never forget to condition your hair after the wash. Apply oil on the scalp and massage your scalp in circle. Be gently not to hurt your magical fingers. Next, a foot rub and massage. Won’t that be sweet? In the absence of a foot massag, a pumice stone is fine. This will even let you know your feet better. A pair of scissors will be needed to scrape harden calluses on heel. Other apparatus needed are warm water in a foot bowl, shampoo, moisturizer, towel, comfortable chair, music, and snack (optional, and depending on your taste).

Add the shampoo to the water in the bowl with your favorite music playing in the background. Set an end table with your preferred snack on it. Put extra warm water aside to be added when it gets cold. Sit comfortably and gently immerse your feet into the bubbling water. Allow your feet to feel the warm sensation, and let it travel through your body — inside and out. You may feast on your snack if you chose to, or the atmosphere would be a perfect time to meditate.

After about ten to thirty minutes, use the sharp edge of the scissors to gently scrape of the now softened calluses of your feet. Rub your feet with the pumice stone with concentrate on your heels and beneath the toes. Change the water and immerse your feet again. Feel your feet relaxing.
