We all go through challenges in life — albeit grief, fear, anger, guilt, depression, or whatever — there’s equally an emotional evolution for why we are the way we are. Kinda! These are adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and the reason why your present challenges often are influenced by intense emotions from your past, especially your childhood. As it turns out, you’re dealing not only with your present self, but your past as well.
